The Child Health and Development Institute of Connecticut (CHDI) is a subsidiary of the Children’s Fund and functions as the Fund’s operating arm. Together, these two organizations are pursuing the ultimate goal that all children in Connecticut will have access to and benefit from a comprehensive, effective, community-based health and mental health care system.
CHDI employs various strategies to help realize this goal, from identifying areas in need of improvement to raising awareness of promising practice improvement ideas and, finally, working with key partners to implement those practice improvements in Connecticut. The Institute’s work spans several critical subject areas, including health, mental/behavioral health, early care & education, juvenile justice, and data & research capacity building. CHDI shares the Children’s Fund strong commitment to promoting healthy child development by making lasting improvements in the delivery of primary and preventive care.
