The Children’s Fund of Connecticut, a public charitable foundation and supporting organization of Connecticut Children’s, is dedicated to ensuring that children in Connecticut have a strong start in life with ongoing supports to promote their optimal health and well-being.
To carry out this vision, the Children’s Fund champions sustainable improvements in children's health and mental health through innovative grant making.
The Fund’s primary beneficiary is its subsidiary, the Child Health and Development Institute of Connecticut (CHDI), a nonprofit organization created by the Fund to serve as its operating arm. The Fund does not accept unsolicited grant applications but awards grants to organizations to support innovations and efforts in keeping with the Fund and CHDI’s mission. Through its membership in the Connecticut Council for Philanthropy, the Fund participates in affinity groups and the Early Childhood Funders Collaborative and partners with other funders to support and advance initiatives in the health, mental health and early childhood areas.
