All Our Kin: Early Childcare Health Consultation


Child Health and Development Institute
Funds support the operations and activities of CHDI to advance programs, practices and policies that will result in sustainable improvements in primary and preventive health and mental health care in Connecticut.

Connecticut Association of Infant Mental Health: Workforce Development Initiative

Funds support the implementation of the Competency Guidelines for Culturally Sensitive, Relationship-Focused Practice that Promote Infant Mental Health® in Connecticut. This work builds the capacity of those who work with young children to promote social and emotional development and to identify and treat mental health problems in children 0-5 years of age.

Connecticut Commission on Children: Connecticut Kids Report Card


Connecticut Early Childhood Alliance
Funds were granted to support efforts to educate advocates and state and local policymakers on the importance of building a comprehensive early childhood system in CT that includes physical, oral and behavioral health and nutrition. 


Connecticut Early Childhood Funders Collaborative – a project of the CT Council for Philanthropy


Discovery Communities: Early Childhood Community Grants
Funds were granted to support 33 communities to integrate health strategies into their early childhood plans and to support plan implementation. Matching funds were also provided to the communities by the William Caspar Graustein Memorial Fund and the State Department of Education. 


Discovery Communities: Early Childhood Data Initiative Stipends
Funds were granted to support six communities in evaluating the utility of community-level data from Connecticut’s Early Childhood Health Assessment Record.


UConn Health Center: Early Childhood Data Initiative
Funds were granted to the UCHC’s Center for Public Health and Policy to develop a customized database for community collaboratives that allows for easy aggregation and reporting of health information in childcare sites.


UConn Health Center: Psychotropic Medication Initiative
Funds were granted to the UConn Health Center, Department of Psychiatry to develop, implement and evaluate an algorithm for managing anxiety and depression in pediatric primary care. 


Yale School of Nursing: Medication Administration Initiative
Funds were granted to support Yale Nursing School in the completion and advancement of best practice trainings and a plan for a statewide system of medication administration. 


Discretionary Grants ($5,000 or less)
The President’s Discretionary Fund was used to provide grants to support the Connecticut Family Support Network, NAMI-CT, CT Oral Health Initiative, CT Voices for Children, Center for Children’s Advocacy, and the CT News Project.
